I’ve recently managed to get an extra 2GB extra server space plus root access, thanks to www.000webhost.com, so now I’m able to install and experiment with different PHP and MySQL services. The address for this new site is http://bxframe.webatu.com
Currently, the following services are mostly for demo purposes, and not for proper commercial use.

eyeOS
BEATRIXNET finally has its own cloud computing service, kind of. eyeOS is a set of PHP5 scripts that create a virtual desktop system, so each user account is a bit like having an online personal computer. The data for each user account is stored as a subdirectory instead of in a database, so no SQL configuration is needed to get it running. It’s usually just a matter of uploading the files and running the installation script, although on a couple of servers I had to resolve small problems with the code.
User accounts on BEATRIXNET eyeOS have a limited storage quota of 100MB at the moment, but I’m hoping to increase that to 500MB by the end of the year.

BEATRIXNET Groups
I’ve also installed the latest version of phpBB so I can get used to working with MySQL and configuring PHP scripts. What I’m hoping to do is create a service for separate groups to communicate privately online. The service works okay, but a lot of configuration needs to be done before it can provide a decent level of privacy, unless private messaging is used. Group and user accounts are available on request.

Bespin IDE
Mozilla Labs have released a collaborative Integrated Development Environment that allows people to work together on projects through a web-based editor. The editor on BXframe is just a single Java program that sets up the IDE on the web page, but I’m still trying to create a system that allows developers to save their projects in a shared folder.
